About me

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in Cheshire, offering both face-to-face sessions locally and online therapy for adults across the UK. I work with people from all walks of life and provide a calm, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where you can talk openly, explore your thoughts, and begin to feel more in control. Whether you are going through a difficult time or simply want to understand yourself better, I am here to support you at your own pace.

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share why I have chosen to become a therapist. Helping people is so much more than a job for me; it is the fulfilment of a lifelong desire to support others in overcoming challenges that have kept them feeling stuck and unable to move forward.

It is my hope that I can draw on both my lived experience of the challenges I have encountered throughout life, alongside my psychotherapeutic training, to support you in working through whatever difficulties you may be facing right now.

Earlier in my career, I worked in a variety of roles across different industries, from small family-run businesses to larger corporate organisations. The experiences I found most meaningful were always those where I felt I was making a difference in people’s lives.

Like many of the people I come into contact with, I have faced a number of challenges in my own life, some of which date back to childhood. There have been many times when these difficulties have felt overwhelming.

Life challenges us all at different times and in different ways, regardless of who we are. Through navigating these experiences, I have developed a deeper understanding of human resilience and what we are capable of overcoming as individuals.

This journey of overcoming and personal growth ignited a long-standing desire within me to support others in their own process of growth. This naturally led me to the helping profession of psychotherapy. It has not only enabled me to understand myself more fully, but also to approach the challenges others face with greater empathy, understanding, and without judgement.

Regardless of the difficulties we may encounter, I believe that everyone strives for fulfilment and to reach their full potential. However, life circumstances can often lead us down paths we never intended. It is my hope that, through my lived experience and professional training, I can help you find your way again.

Choosing to start therapy can feel like a significant step, and finding the right person to talk to is important. My aim is to offer a space where you feel accepted, safe, and free to be yourself from the very beginning. I believe meaningful change happens when you are met with empathy, understanding, and genuine human connection.

My Approach

My work has a strong foundation in the person-centred approach, which means you are met with empathy, respect and total acceptance for who you are, without judgement. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to listen deeply, understand your experience and walk alongside you as you find your own answers and direction.

I am trained in a pluralistic approach. In simple terms, this means there is no single ‘right’ way to do therapy. Instead, we work collaboratively to decide what will help you most, drawing on different methods and techniques to suit you as an individual. This flexible style allows therapy to be tailored around your needs rather than fitting you into one model.

Alongside counselling and psychotherapy, I am trained in hypnotherapy. Where appropriate, I may gently integrate hypnotherapy techniques within our sessions to support relaxation, confidence and deeper insight. These methods are always used thoughtfully as part of the overall therapeutic process, rather than as a separate service.

Beyond the therapy room

I relocated to the United Kingdom from South Africa in 2018 with my husband and daughters. It has been a journey with its share of challenges and growth, and one of the most meaningful changes for me was training to become a counsellor. My own life experiences, including a challenging childhood, are what motivated me to help others and fulfil a lifelong dream of supporting people through counselling.

Outside of work, I enjoy long walks, listening to music, connecting with nature and photography. These quiet, grounding moments help me stay balanced and present, qualities I bring into my work with clients.

If you feel that I might be the right person to support you, I would love to hear from you.

Voluntary Work

Alongside my private practice, I also volunteer with Her-Place Charitable Trust, supporting women in need. This work is incredibly important to me and reflects my commitment to providing compassionate support to people facing challenging circumstances.
